Each teacher maintained a programme and lessons register for their class. The programme register covered an academic year. There is an introductory page setting out the name of the school, the grade, the dates of the terms, the average age of the pupils, the name of the teacher and the date of their assignment to the class. The volumes are sub-divided into terms. At the end of each term is an unstructured two-page spread headed “Remarks.” The programme is otherwise set out in pre-printed pages. At the left-hand edge of each verso page is a column marked with week numbers. There is a four-page spread for each term’s English programmes, three-page spreads for each of Mathematics and Social Studies, and half- to one-page spreads for other subjects. The weekly programme is set out under the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Social Studies (including Scripture), Health and Physical Education, Natural Science, Music, and Art and Handicrafts / Needlework. The teacher completed lessons on all of these topics in the course of each week.The series is presently represented by a single volume, which deals with lessons taught in the Primary grades of the school in 1961. The introductory page of this volume has not been filled in, and a printing or binding error has resulted in the pages intended to bear the first term’s programmes for Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Natural Science, Music, and Art and Handicrafts / Needlework appearing at the end of the volume. In this volume, only English and Mathematics programmes appear for all three terms of the school year; Social Studies programmes are only given for two terms, and all other subjects for only one term.
