Replication code and data for Earthquake Insights re-analysis of Lippiello et al. (2025)

This archive contains code and data supporting Earthquake Insights post: "Can we tell if an earthquake is going to be a foreshock?", which is an independent re-analysis of the foreshock identification method described in: Lippiello, E., Petrillo, G., Godano, C. and Dal Zilio, L., 2025. Toward recognizing the waveform of foreshocks. Geophysical Research Letters, 52(15), p.e2025GL115466. The user must download IRIS and NIED data using the provided scripts (about 12 GB of data). NIED download requires account registration with NIED and manual download intervention per event. Instructions for running the code to replicate the Earthquake Insights figures are provided in HOWTO.txt and in the provided Python script calculate_q.py.
