NRS-10224 | Daily returns of personnel in camp [Rothbury State Operated Colliery]

These are daily returns of personnel employed at the State operated Rothbury Colliery for the period 13 December 1929 to 18 June 1930. There are rough handwritten - probably draft - returns for the period 13 December 1929 to 18 June 1930 but, from 30 December 1929, there are also copies of the typescript returns forwarded for the information of the Minister.For each day, the returns provide the numbers of the different categories of personnel in camp as at midnight. The categories enumerated include Staff, Free Labourers and Police. Generally, the names of those who arrived and departed on the day are listed. There are what appear to be full lists of the names of workmen as at 17 and 24 Jan 1930.Sometimes the reason for an employee's departure is provided. These include: on leave, unsuitable as miner, unsatisfactory conduct, work completed, own request and for medical treatment.
