JHS 153 ETRS89 coordinates in Finland

The recommendation is intended for producers of spatial data sets and systems. The recommendation is of a technical nature and defines the realisation of the pan-European ETRS89 coordinate system in Finland. This Finnish coordinate system is referred to as EUREF-FIN as opposed to European Realisations (ETRF89). National atlas works and spatial data services recommend using the described pan-European coordinate system ETRS89 instead of the current Atlas Coordinating System (KKJ). During the transition period, the mapping system (KKJ) will continue to be in use. The recommendation also aims to harmonise and accelerate the deployment of the ETRS89 coordinate system in Finland.
