Old dikes (Environmental Regulation)

This file contains old dikes as laid down in the Environmental Ordinance of the Province of Groningen. In this Environmental Ordinance we have introduced rules to protect old dikes or parts or remnants thereof. Dikes are a core characteristic of our province. We protect these values. These include: • (sleeper) dikes and related elements such as bowls, drinking tubs, denominations and bulkhead houses); • recognizable dike traces; • guide. We encourage the restoration and strengthening of weeds, ashs and dikes and the related elements with instruments through the Rural Area Programme.
