Drying plants

A drying plant is a dry-ground former lake or more. The polders in the drying houses have a straight lined plot and are usually a few meters lower than the surrounding area. The dataset ‘Droogmakerijen’ contains a national mapping of drying plants as defined as type in the NAi Polderatlas. These drying plants are divided according to the period of origin and have data fields for current polder level and year of drying. This dataset includes the Mills and Gemalen dataset, which shows the grinding device(s) for drying at the relevant drying plant.
