Number of workers recruited to the public health sector in Ghana 2020, by function

In 2020, nearly 51 thousand permanent staff were recruited into Ghana's public health sector, as against some 7.2 thousand temporary workers in the same field. The largest share of employment in the sector was found with nurses, accounting for over 43 thousand staff that year. Moreover, the recruited support staff and allied health professionals added up to 4,146 and 2,000, respectively.
