Microbial diversity in the intestines of Bactrian camels

We conducted 16Sr RNA sequencing to investigate intestinal samples taken from the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of six healthy Bactrian camels in Minqin County, Gansu Province, China. We collected a sample of mucus from the surface of Peyer's patches in each segment of the intestine for detection. We collected a total of 36 intestinal samples, each containing 6 biological replicates from the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. This study aimed to uncover the composition and diversity of bacteria colonizing the intestinal tract of the Bactrian camel.
