Analysis of Urban Development Strategies 1

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify;line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&#39;times new roman&#39; , serif">The material concerns the analysis of urban
development strategies conducted as part of a research project – task: WP4, in
which the role of spatial planning instruments and development strategies in
the process of tourist gentrification of cities is examined. This study
examines how urban development strategies create conditions that may foster
tourist gentrification despite their pro-social framing.The analyzed issues are
grouped into the following categories: (I) City center function, (II) Approach
to tourism; (III) Housing–tourism interface (gentrification); (IV) Operational
tools. The identification of provisions in urban development strategies was
carried out based on an adopted evaluation scale:1 – hidden precursor; 2 –
strong signal; 3 – explicit provision; 4 – strategic gaps.</span></p>
