Primary Survey Control Points

Overview This dataset contains geodetic control points derived from three reliable survey sources: HARN points, OPUS shared Solutions submitted by SDDOT and other contributors, and static network surveys conducted by SDDOT staff. Each point includes precise horizontal and vertical measurements, as well as location information. Horizontal Datum is NAD83(2011) South Dakota State Plane and Vertical Datum is NAVD88. This data supports accurate spatial alignment and assists field crews and engineers in maintaining consistent, reliable positioning across projects. Data is updated by SDDOT region surveyors as needed. Feature Layers Primary Control Points North Zone: This layer consists of geodetic control points located in the northern zone of South Dakota. Each point is characterized by accurate horizontal positioning (easting and northing), elevation, local latitude and longitude, and ellipsoid height. The data assists in ensuring consistent spatial alignment for engineering and field operations in this region. Primary Control Points South Zone: This layer contains similar geodetic control points for the southern zone of the state.
