Dissecting the effect of single and co-infections of TB and COVID-19 on the sputum microbiome

In this study, sputum samples were collected from individuals with TB only, COVID-19 only, both TB and COVID-19 (TBCOVID), and neither conditions (Controls) and subjected to 16S rRNA (V3V4) sequencing. Whole Genome Sequening (WGS) data from a subset of TB sputum samples were also generated to analyze the genetic impact of TB on sputum microbiome in co-infections.
