XRD mineralogical composition - Crossreads

This dataset is the result of data acquired by Alessia Coccato (University of Oxford), Germana Barone and Paolo Mazzoleni (Università di Catania) and of the development of data processing tools in collaboration with Ryan Heuser and J. Miguel Monteiro Vieira (King’s College London) in the framework of the Crossreads project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme Grant agreement No. 885040 (PI Jonathan Prag, University of Oxford). XRD patterns were acquired on powdered samples acquired on inscriptions. The ISic codes refer to the online repository I.Sicily I.Sicily — Inscriptions of Ancient Sicily. The XRD files were processed in Profex [Doebelin and Kleeberg 2015] using configuration files adapted to the Rigaku Miniflex instrument and the BGMN and Minerals databases. The results were extracted as GLOBAL GOALS and are collected in "GLOBAL GOALS ISic". For easier handling of the XRD results, a reference table was created to group minerals into categories [Heuser et al 2026], called "New colnames". This allowed to reformat the file "GLOBAL GOALS ISic" into a compact table "XRD Data_postprocessed_sums".
