The aim is to identify the genes and pathways activated by SCAFs. SCAFs are added to proliferating cells in culture. SCAFs were isolated from GFP labelled senescent IMR90 cells using FACS sorting. As a control, inert plastic beads were isolated using the same procedure. In four independent biological replicates 60 000 IMR90 cells were treated either by 300 000 isolated inert beads as a control (Beads) or with 300 000 isolated SCAFs (SCAFs). Treatment duration was 20 hours.
