Road count on the departmental road in Haute-Garonne

Road counting makes it possible to evaluate the traffic of vehicles, cars and heavy goods vehicles, on the departmental roads (RD) of the Haute-Garonne. These data are collected and analysed by the Department’s Roads Directorate to study traffic conditions and traffic levels at certain sites in the Territory. They make it possible to better adapt the policies of modernisation, maintenance, management and operation of infrastructure and to scale the resources to be devoted to them through its road master plan. This dataset provides, for each of the counting points, (annual average daily traffic (AWTM)) (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classe_de_trafic_routier_en_France) obtained by calculating the yearly average of the number of vehicles circulating (all types), all directions, during a day. These delayed traffic data are accompanied by a percentage estimate of the number of heavy goods vehicles in their composition. * * * * Column **counting status** indicates **3 different ways of compiling the counting**: **Permanent:** these counting stations are located all year round at the edge of the structuring road network of the department. The data is recorded and returned in real time. This concerns 100 stations. **Turning:** 268 counting points spread over the entire structuring network complete the permanent counts. They are the subject of regular collections, over a week, at least every two years. **Exceptional:** these are implanted meters, as required, for a period of one week (studies of specific projects, security operations...).
