The fungal community associating with dune grass roots at Humboldt Bay, USA

This study used next generation sequencing to characterize the fungal communities occupying the roots of the coastal dune grasses Ammophila arenaria and Leymus mollis growing at Humboldt Bay in the United States. The study aimed to compare the communities by host plant species, and to compare the utility of the ITS, SSU and LSU gene regions for characterizing the communities. We also investigated community change across space along the dune.
