Lake Shoreline Flood Hazard

Last data update: May 26, 2024 This layer is a polygon feature showing the delineation of the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Flood Hazard. It shows the extent of the flood hazard around the shoreline of Lake Simcoe extending landward. In the event of a discrepancy between this delineation and the text of the applicable regulation, the text of the applicable regulation shall prevail. These elevations and dataset are based in CGVD28. This layer was produced by W.F. Baird & Associates Coastal Engineers Ltd. in conjunction with the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Hazard Mapping Final Report, dated April 4, 2024.

As outlined in Section 7.3 of the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Hazard Mapping Final Report, dated April 4, 2024, the delineation of the flood hazard uses the surge level plus an inland offset distance specific to each reach of shoreline. The Lake Simcoe Shoreline Hazard Mapping Final Report dated April 4, 2024, also provides a Runup Level elevation for each shoreline reach that could be applicable to site-specific assessments.
