中层鱼类是海洋中连接高低营养级的重要纽带。南大洋主要中层鱼类有灯笼鱼科、深海鲑科、侧纹南极鱼等,它们被高营养级如犬牙鱼、鲸鱼等捕获,和其他生物类群一起共同形成寒冷环境下的独特生态系统。南极渔业资源的保护和利用也是CCAMLR《南极海洋生物资源养护公约》高度重视的敏感内容。而我国开发利用的南极生物主要还是南极磷虾,对南极鱼类资源的研究、开发和保护均比较薄弱。
普里兹湾是南大洋生物资源研究较多的区域,有必要对其进行持续观察。
本数据为中国第38次南极考察中层鱼类调查数据,对了解泛南极鱼类物种组成、数量分布,建立南极海域本底中层鱼类数据库,评估鱼类关键种资源储量具有重要意义。
1.数据采集方法和所获资料
使用网口大小10 m2的RMT(rectangular midwater trawl)中层框架拖网进行鱼类样本的采集和初步鉴定。样本冷冻保存后送回国内实验室进行详细鉴定和主要生物学数据的测定。
2.观测区域
本航次考察海区为普里兹湾。
Mesopelagic fish play a critical role as a trophic link between upper and lower trophic levels in marine ecosystems. The main mesopelagic fish species in the Southern Ocean include Myctophidae, Bathylagidae, Pleuragramma antarcticum, etc. These fish are preyed upon by higher trophic level organisms such as Dissostichus and whales, and together with other biological groups, they form a unique ecosystem in cold marine environments. The protection and utilization of Antarctic fishery resources are also sensitive issues that the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) attaches great importance to. However, the Antarctic organisms currently developed and utilized by China are mainly Antarctic krill, and research, development and protection of Antarctic fish resources remain relatively weak.
Prydz Bay is a well-studied area for Southern Ocean biological resources, and sustained monitoring of it is necessary.
This dataset is derived from mesopelagic fish surveys conducted during China's 38th Antarctic Scientific Expedition. It is of great significance for understanding the species composition and abundance distribution of pan-Antarctic fish, establishing a baseline mesopelagic fish database for Antarctic waters, and assessing the resource reserves of key fish species.
1. Data Collection Methods and Obtained Materials
Fish samples were collected and preliminarily identified using a rectangular midwater trawl (RMT) with a net mouth area of 10 m². After being cryopreserved, the samples were transported back to domestic laboratories for detailed identification and measurement of key biological parameters.
2. Survey Area
The survey sea area during this cruise was Prydz Bay.
