This project addresses the assembly and annotation of placozoan mitochondrial genomes included in metagenomic data generated from rhodopemorph Mollusks. The snail grazers feed on placozoans. Due to the targeted enrichment of mitochondrial DNA of the DNA pools, included placozoan mitochondrial DNA was also amplified and could be assembled to near-complete mitochondrial genomes.
