In 2017, we initiated an artificial selective breeding program to improve the oceanic salinity (about 30) resistance of estuarine oysters to develop its farming industry in Northern China. Six-month-old oysters were collected from an artificially selected population (G5) cultured in a sea area (oceanic salinity), as well as a self-propagating wild population in the estuary without artificial high salt stress. Both populations (50 individuals each) were collected from Binzhou City, Shandong Province, China. Reduced-representation genome sequencing (SLAF-seq) was performed for 50 individuals from each population.
