Sequencing of strains from the Horn of Africa (Djibouti region). TB_Djibouti

According to several recent publications, the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) is considered to have emerged in Africa, probably in the Horn of Africa. According to this, it is possible that currently unknown deep branching lineages are present in this region. Therefore a collection of 411 MTBC isolates was typed using multiple locus variable number of tandem repeats (VNTR) analysis (MLVA), and the most remarquable isolates were sequenced for this project.
