Murray Catchment Conservation Estate

This project will preserve natural and cultural values within the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area and enhance and maintain the ecological character of the NSW Central Murray Forests Ramsar site.

Building on a long history of management through partnerships and a strong, cooperative approach to managing these areas, the land managers, traditional custodians, State and Federal agencies and adjoining landholders will work to identify on-ground actions to actively manage and reduce threats to the conservation estate.

This will further increase the capacity of the Aboriginal community and local people to manage lands that are important within the catchment.
