Hindi general entertainment content (GEC) accounted for 24 percent of advertising across GEC television channels in India in the first half of 2024, making it the leading subgenre. The next leading subgenres were the Tamil and the Telugu GECs given that the South-Indian market is the second-largest demographic within the Indian television market.
