This study was undertaken to discern the transmission characteristics of mcr-1, TEM-176 and blaCTX-M-14 in one multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli EC012 from broiler in China. The genetic profiles of EC012 isolate were determined by conjugation and whole genome sequencing analysis. Meanwhile, co-transfer of plasmids in EC012 isolate was screened by dual conjugation assays. The EC012 isolate was identified as ST457, and harbored 2 conjugative plasmids, pEC012-1 (blaCTX-M-14 and mcr-1-bearing IncHI2), pEC012-5 (TEM-176-carrying IncI2).
