Additional file 1. Supplementary Methods 1 describes two algorithms used in the training and deployment of the epidemiology information extraction model and pipeline. The first algorithm describes in pseudocode how data used for training the BioBERT model was prelabeled in a weakly-supervised fashion. The second algorithm describes a method used to identify rare disease terms in abstracts.
