In order to investigate how the dominating bacteria E. mundtii survives inside gut of Spodoptera littoralis, we sequenced the transcriptomes of the bacteria when it lives in the fore and the hind guts of the larvae, as compared to when it is cultured in in vitro conditions. The three conditions are named FG, HG and FL respectively.
