In order to extend research in the engineered 1,4-dioxane bioremediation, this study focused on the ex-site combined oxidation-biodegradation technology treating 1,4-dioxane and chlorinated solvents at various concentrations by using bench-scale microcosms. The main task was to show the relationships among microbial community, contaminants removals, and treatment trains, as well as to investigate the influence of variables (initial concentrations and operational time) and biotic factor (microbial interactions and co-occurring patterns) in shaping microbial community assembly and performance.
