Three pollen and two phytolith samples were examined from the Chimney
Rock site and associated check dams. These samples represent two check dams
and a clay floor from a room that had been burned. Pollen and phytolith
analysis was undertaken to examine check dam agriculture at Chimney Rock, as
well as to identify elements of the subsistence base.
