Observational and model data for investigating wind forcing mechanisms in a proglacial valley, southwest Yukon, Canada.

Surface AWS data Dataset from surface meteorological stations used in the study of Bellamy et al. (2024) to investigate forcing mechanisms in the A’ą̈y Chù (Slims River) proglacial valley in Yukon, Canada. Surface wind data is provided in the following files: "DV_2021_2022.mat", "MV_2021_2022.mat" and "UV_2021_2022.mat". See Bellamy et al. (2024) for station descriptions or details in "readme_station_data.txt". WRF model output The bulk of this repository consists of model output from high-resolution WRF simulations over the target region for several days, in order to investigate wind systems under periods of strong synoptic forcing and calm conditions.
