Integrative Analysis of the Intestinal Geographical Patterns of Microbiome and Metabolites Identifies Novel Regulators of GVHD

The gut microbiome and metabolites play a large role in impacting intestinal health and more specifically, in GVHD pathology. Despite numerous studies analyzing the gut microbiome from excreted stool post-transplant, we still lack insight into the geographical variation of the microbiome and metabolites during GVHD. By analyzing four different gut locations at two different times post-transplant, we identify novel, location-specific changes in the microbiome and associated gut metabolites leading to identification of targets important in GVHD pathology.
