The China Regional Atmospheric Forcing Dataset based on geostationary satellites and reanalysis data is a set of high spatiotemporal resolution atmospheric forcing datasets developed by the China Meteorological Administration. It has a spatial resolution of 0.1° × 0.1°, a temporal resolution of 1 hour, and covers the region from 75°E to 135°E and 15°N to 55°N. The dataset includes six variables: near-surface air temperature, relative humidity, surface air pressure, near-surface wind speed, surface incident solar radiation, and surface precipitation rate. The preparation process of the precipitation product is as follows: First, fuse the 6-hour cumulative precipitation estimates retrieved from the multi-channel data of China's Fengyun-2 (FY-2) geostationary satellites with the 6-hour cumulative precipitation data from conventional ground observations to obtain the spatial distribution data of 6-hour cumulative precipitation. Then, use the high-resolution cloud classification information retrieved from the multi-channel data of geostationary satellites to determine the temporal interpolation weights for cumulative precipitation, thereby generating 1-hour cumulative precipitation estimates. The preparation process of the radiation data is as follows: The surface incident solar radiation based on FY-2C is calculated using the radiative transfer model DISORT (Discrete Ordinates Radiative Transfer Program for a Multi-Layered Plane-parallel Medium), to obtain hourly 0.1° × 0.1° surface incident solar radiation data over the China region. For the remaining variables: The 1.0° × 1.0° NCEP reanalysis data are processed with spatial and temporal interpolation methods to generate hourly 0.1° × 0.1° near-surface air temperature, relative humidity, surface air pressure, near-surface wind speed and other forcing variables.
