Determining factors of purchase behavior of married women. The course
of employment of women who interrupted employment.
Topics: length and pressure of time in the search for work;
information about occupational education; assessment of the knowledge
gained during apprenticeship and applicability of these abilities in
last employment; participation in measures for further education;
financial support on the part of the employment office for
participation in courses; initiator of participation in such courses;
frequency of contact with former {female} colleagues; evaluation of the
further education measure; employment at a temporary work agency;
exercise of honorary activities; frequency of job interviews and
applications due to personal initiative; interest in applications for a
job for men; time worked each week by spouse; double income; preferred
time worked each week; attitude of spouse to one´s own employment;
attitude to employment of women (scale); perceived discrimination of
women in professional life; assessment of the aptitude of women or men
for certain activities; attitude to the choice of male occupations;
personal professional position of father and employment of mother
during youth of respondent; contributions to retirement insurance; year
of birth of children; person caring for children during working hours.
The following questions were posed to those not currently working:
last activity exercised; interest in employment; search for work; major
difficulties in entering or returning to professional life after leave
for new parent or maternity leave; frequency of job applications in the
last 12 months; interest in resumption of employment with the previous
company; registering as job-seeker with the employment office; most
important reasons for the search for occupation and employment;
tiredness after work; interest in employment in the future; preference
for full-time, part-time, work at home or self-employment; dependence
of interest in employment on the situation in the job market; temporal
perspective for taking up work; search for work through the employment
office or on personal initiative.
Working women were asked: flexibility in the form of working hours;
reasons for the exercise of part-time work; most important
disadvantages and difficulties in part-time work; casual work; shift
work; measures for job creation; freelancing; work at home; jobsharing;
work at a computer terminal; work orientation and job satisfaction;
time worked each week; limited work contract; interest in permanent
employment; career orientation and prospects of promotion in the
company; span of control; sex of immediate superior and of
subordinates; comparison of personal education level with that of one´s
superior; preference for man or woman as superior; plans for
occupational future.
The following questions were posed to women who at some time had
interrupted their employment: reason for interruption; judgement on
interruption of employment in retrospect; information on the course of
professional life up to now and reason for the interruption of
employment; willingness to make concessions in the search for work;
re-employment agreement with employer; registering as unemployed with
the employment office; acceptance of temporary activities or vacation
substitute during interruption; temporary jobs in the previous company;
difficulties in re-integration in occupation.
