Poly(methimazolyl)silanes: Syntheses and Molecular Structures

A new class of multidentate “scorpionate” ligands
is readily obtained from the reactions of methimazole with a range
of organochlorosilanes. A recurrent structural feature to emerge is
the intramolecular S-capping of the tetrahedral inner Si coordination
spheres, the nature of which is responsive to the substitution pattern
at silicon.
