Sequencing of Rabbit Manure and Vermicompost Microbes

Manures and vermicomposts are common soil amendments that have the ability to alter the microbial diversity of soils. In order to explore the microbial diversity within these amendments, rabbit manure and vermicomposts which have been treated for 1, 6, and 12 months were collected, and DNA isolated from these samples were sequenced. This enabled the identification of potentially beneficial nitrogen fixing microbial genera, as well as the presence of potentially pathogenic microbes.
