BRONZELID database

BRONZELID is an open lead isotope database dedicated to Chalcolithic and Bronze Age metal artefacts from Europe and the Near East. Version 1.0 contains 9,345 lead isotope analyses performed on copper, copper-alloy and lead artefacts dating from the fifth to the early first millennium BCE. The database combines data inherited from OXALID with analyses compiled from more recent publications and includes harmonised archaeological metadata, geographic coordinates, chronological information and calculated geological parameters. BRONZELID was developed to facilitate large-scale provenance studies, spatial analyses and quantitative investigations of prehistoric metal circulation. The database is intended as a dynamic resource and will be regularly updated as new lead isotope studies become available.
