Moose (grid representation)

The database for the distribution of mosses in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is maintained and managed at the Botanical Institute of the University of Greifswald. It is part of the floristic database, which also includes taller plants, algae, fungi, and lichens (www.flora-MV.de, contact: Dr. Florian Jansen). A database extract from May 2017 was imported into the species database MV in the LUNG via the MultiBaseCS interface and ex-ported from there as a shape for the LINFOS. The available database moos17_r.shp contains all found information from the species database M-V on moss related to measuring table sheet quadrant. The data were aggregated by type, year and table sheet quadrant. The precise data are available as a stand-alone database (moos15_p.shp). The present grid database comprises insg. 94.570 data sets (aggregated from 139.235 observations) on 607 moss species from 1667 to 2017. It is not a systematic, complete survey of the entire territory of the country. Rather, data from various projects and volunteer work were collected. For areas without find points, therefore, a missing occurrence of the species cannot be assumed automatically. If appropriate habitats or habitat structures exist, studies on the possible occurrence of the species(s) must be carried out within the framework of permits and authorisations.
