The main purpose of the present paper is to model and estimate fuel loading of Dajashi National Forest by using forest inventory data and on site sampling survey. The survey conducted by mixing 10*10 m sampling plots and line-intersect sampling. Except litter and duff layers, a total of 7 regression models using tree diameter, shrub basal diameter, tree height, crown width of shrub and ground cover of grass respectively were created in an acceptable regression coefficient (R2). Fuel loading estimated by applying these equations is 197.83~272.66 Mg/ha. Comparing to fuel loading survey of coniferous forests in northern America and tropical rain forests in Brazil, Dajashi National Forestâs surface fuel loading is a little bit higher. Since fuel loading influencing fire spread rate and fire intensity, the high fuel loading needs to be concerned and found out the solution to deal with by forest management agency.
