This project investigated the impact of oxytetracycline on gut microbiota composition and antibiotic resistance in the freshwater catfish Mystus cavasius (Gulsha tengra) under controlled aquaculture conditions in Bangladesh. Fish were reared in semi-natural tanks and fed antibiotic mixed medicated diets for 90 days. Gut samples were collected and analyzed using both culture-dependent techniques and shotgun metagenomic sequencing. Culturable bacterial isolates were identified via 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and their resistance profiles were assessed using the disk diffusion method. Metagenomic DNA was extracted from gut samples and sequenced on the Illumina MiniSeq platform.
