Fuel load and bushfire risk

Data describe static fuel loads and and bush fire risk across Australia based on vegetation types, foliage cover and fuel load look-up tables. Fire intensities are derived using the McArthur fire intensity formula. Fuel loads are partly based on Standards Australia's 2009 "Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas: AS3959-2009" (Table B2). Instead of assigning fuel load values uniformly across each vegetation type, the specified loads were distributed within each vegetation class according to the spatial variation in foliage cover. Data are in grid format (geotiff) at approximately 250 m resolution, national extent.
