The Impact of Age Management on Organizational Performance in Social Work: A Study of Czech managers
The concept of age management is receiving increasing attention in various sectors, especially in industries with a high proportion of older workers, such as social work. This study examines the impact and perceived benefits of age management in social work organizations in the Czech Republic based on a questionnaire survey of 219 senior social work managers. The impacts of age management presented by social workers are examined using factor analysis to categorize these impacts into groups that would facilitate organizational development. The relationship between the selected variables and the impacts of age management is examined utilizing a dependency test (χ2) and a Cramer's V measurement. Factor analysis identified three main dimensions of perceived benefits: (1) Motivation, (2) Organizational Culture, and (3) Talent Management. The research results also confirmed the relationship between the existence of a human resource department and the implementation of age management. The results showed that organizations implementing age management see benefits in employee motivation and retention, organizational culture and workplace climate, and talent management. Given the demographics of an aging workforce, organizations should actively incorporate age management into their human resource strategies to promote both internal stability and external perceptions of the organization.
