refer to the SuperSeries Each microarray encompasses 4 identical probe-containing areas. Blood samples obtained from 7 HHV-6 patients during acute mononucleosis and after convalescence were included in the experiment. The present design/platform covers significantly larger number of apoptosis and survival genes (450) than the former (221). Another advantage of this new platform is the presence of several different probes targeted to a single mRNA isoform. Also, the design covers 12 Epstein-Barr virus genes.
