Acoustic characterization of the voicing of stop phones in brazilian portuguese

Purpose to investigate and compare the acoustic characteristics of voiceless and voiced plosives in the speech of children with typical phonological development and adults with typical language speech patterns. Method the study’s sample is arranged in two groups – 17 adults and 11 children with typical phonological development. Through words/pseudowords ([‘papa], [‘baba], [‘tata], [‘dada], [‘kaka] and [‘gaga]) inserted into carrier phrases (“Say ___ papa again”;), the voice onset time, the length of the vowel, and we measured the burst amplitude and the length of the occlusion.
