Report: Cilia fauna: Eulitoral Norderney (2000)»

In this thesis, the ciliate fauna of the sand gap system of two eulitoral areas of the East Frisian island of Norderney was investigated. In the respective study area of the Norderneyer Inselwatts and the south-western beach of the island, monthly sampling was carried out at two stations from July to October 2000. The extraction of the ciliate fauna from the sediment samples was carried out using modified seawater ice method and cover glass method. Qualitatively, the ciliate species and genera were recorded with the help of live observations. In addition, the determination of the ciliates was supported by video recordings taken with the help of an inverse microscope and video camera. Movement, resting, food intake and development phases of the extracted ciliates were filmed from samples from the western beach and the appointment stations.
