资源简介:
ASCOS was an interdisciplinary expedition to the central Arctic on the icebreaker Oden from 1 August to 9 September 2008. The expedition focused on processes related to cloud formation in the summer Arctic and included observations of marine biology and chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, physical oceanography, aerosol chemistry and physics, and meteorology. This ASCOS data set includes measurements from a Ka-band, 35-GHz cloud radar. These measurements specifically include the first three Doppler moments: reflectivity, mean Doppler velocity, and Doppler spectrum width. Four operational modes are used by the radar to optimize observations in different parts of the troposphere. These modes are then combined using the Active Remotely Sensed Cloud Locations algorithm (Clothiaux et al. 2000) to provide a comprehensive radar cloud observation data set covering the full troposphere.
