PEDAGOGICAL MECHANISMS FOR THE FORMATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY AND HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS AMONG TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS

The formation of national identity and historical consciousness among students of technical colleges represents a critical component of modern education systems, particularly in societies undergoing rapid socio-cultural transformation. This study explores pedagogical mechanisms that effectively contribute to the development of these constructs within vocational education contexts. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and classroom observations involving 120 students and 15 history teachers. The findings reveal that interactive teaching methods, integration of local historical narratives, and the use of digital technologies significantly enhance students’ engagement and identity formation. Statistical analysis demonstrates a positive correlation between innovative pedagogical practices and students’ historical awareness levels. The study concludes by offering practical recommendations for educators and policymakers, emphasizing the importance of culturally responsive teaching and interdisciplinary integration in fostering national identity and historical consciousness.
