Neonatal asphyxia is medical condition that has been linked to neurological defects later in life. To understand the dysbiosis caused by the ailment, gut samples were obtained from six neonates at the pediatric unit of a hospital in Ogbomoso, Southwest, Nigeria. After DNA extraction, 16S rRNA specific sequencing was carried out before analysis to present their metagenomes, diversity and dysbiosis.
