Category learning through observation and feedback in young adults: exemplar-based or prototype-based categorisation (Replication of Bowman et al., 2018, 2020).

ARENA Deliverable: P2_WP1_02 [M20] Pilot Data collection - part 2 We pre-selected stimuli sets based on Bozoki et al., 2006 and Bowman et al., 2018,2020 of artificual creatures belonging to two different categories. The creatures differed in 8 binary features. For the learning (either feedback-based (free or criteria-based) or observational) only exepmlars which are two features away from the prototype were selected. Final generalization task included categorization of prototypes, and new exemplars which were 1, 2 or 3 features away from the ptototype. In addition, also ambiguous exemplars were included to test for categorization bias.
