Hydraulic fracturing plays a key role in the field of unconventional energy extraction.The real formation stress state and hydraulic fracturing process can be simulated in the laboratory by applying triaxial compression and injection pressure to small-scale rock samples for hydraulic fracturing experiments. X-ray computed tomography (CT) is one of the most effective nondestructive methods for elucidating the internal structure of opaque materials. We carried out in situ X-ray imaging of the rock sample during the hydraulic fracturing experiment process. The data we uploaded can be divided into two main parts. The first part is the confining, axial and water injection pressures recorded during the hydraulic fracturing experiment. The second part is the CT scans of the rock sample during the hydraulic fracturing experiment.
