资源简介:
Rev. Aksel Kristiansen (1896-1967). Sent by Danish Santal Mission to North India, 1928-39 and 1946-49. Married to Rigmor Skat Petersen, 1928 in Darjeeling. Working places: Gaorang/Gaurang 1929-39 + 1946-47, Bongaigaon 1948-49. Pastor in Laastrup/Skals Congregations, 1939-46 and Dean of Rinds-Nørlyng Deanery, from 1943. Aksel Kristiansen became the pioneer for mission to the Boro/Bodo tribe in Assam. In 1929 the Gaorang/Gaurang Mission Station was built, and later also a boy's boarding school. During the following years several congregations were founded, and when Rigmor & Aksel Kristiansen returned to Denmark in 1939, 3000 Christian Boros were baptized. A particularly significant contribution of Aksel Kristiansen was his literacy work , e.g. translating the New Testament to the Boro/Bodo language, 1939. Later, having 3 years of furlough from his ministry in Denmark, he returned to Assam for a revision of his previous translation, and a new edition was published in 1949. Aksel Kristiansen also wrote books about his years as a missionary, e.g. "Blandt Urfolk i Assams Jungle", 1934, and "Arbejdsaar blandt Boroerne",1942.
