MARGINS Data Collection

The MARGINS data collection is maintained as a primary data resource resulting from the MARGINS community science program of focused investigations into active and passive continental margin processes. The data collection includes interdisciplinary data acquired during land and marine projects from each of the Focus Sites established for the four science initiatives: the Seismogenic Zone Experiment (SEIZE), the Subduction Factory (SubFac), Rupturing Continental Lithosphere (RCL), and Sediment Dynamics and Strata Formation: Source to Sink (S2S). The collection includes marine field data from MARGINS-funded and related cruises including sonar mapping and geophysical data, water column data, bottom sensor data such as heat flow, along with rock, fluid, and sediment sampling information. Regional data sets contributed by foreign collaborators are also available. Information on rock sampling, seismometer and geodetic studies from land-based MARGINS funded programs are also accessible. A MARGINS References Database is also maintained as part of this data collection.
