Illness Perception, Diabetes Knowledge and Self-care Practices in Type 2 Diabetes Patients. A Cross-Sectional Study in Ho Teaching Hospital

This dataset accompanies the cross-sectional study titled "Illness Perception, Diabetes Knowledge and Self-care Practices in Type 2 Diabetes Patients at Ho Teaching Hospital." The study explores the relationship between patients’ understanding of type 2 diabetes, their perceptions of the illness, and the self-care behaviors they practice. The dataset includes anonymized responses from adult type 2 diabetes patients attending the diabetes clinic at Ho Teaching Hospital. Variables captured include demographic characteristics, illness perception scores (using the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire), diabetes knowledge levels, and self-care practices (assessed using the Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities scale). This data can be used for replication, secondary analysis, and meta-analysis related to chronic disease management and patient education.
